Senior Engineer, Client Account Manager, Marketing Director, janitor
I sort of fell into IT by accident. I had been working as a professional photographer and the studio I worked at was beginning to move into the “computer age” (Windows 3.11). My wife was working for a physician’s helpdesk and had taught me how to use WordPerfect, Lotus 1-2-3 and Freelance Graphics – making me an “expert.” This new foray into computers led to a 9-month contract providing training and support for Dow Jones as they rolled-out a new Windows 95 based system for the Wall Street Journal. After a couple of years, my wife and I moved to Southern NJ and I switched companies and began a 7 year stint with Kaplan Education; first as a Windows/Networking Trainer and eventually as the Technology Support Manager for the Eastern Region (supporting 22 campuses). While getting to see most of the country was exciting, the travel got wearisome. Eventually, I found my way to Delaware and joined Dorset Connects.
I was born in Queens, NY just down the road from Shea Stadium (which is why I am so avid a Mets fan), and grew up in the New Jersey suburbs. I spent most of my summers on the Jersey Shore (Manasquan, Point Pleasant, Belmar and Seaside Heights), hanging out, listening to Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny, the Smithereens and all the other Jersey bands. After graduating college in Washington, DC, I moved to Atlanta. Since then I have lived in Georgia, North Carolina, Maryland, New Jersey and now in Delaware. My wife and I have been married for 17 years and we have two daughters, two cats and two dogs.
I spend most of my free time playing with my kids; though I enjoy getting outside with my camera and going on photo-expeditions. I also fancy myself a pretty good chef and can be found in the kitchen, knee-deep in onions, garlic and whatever else I can get my hands on. While I do like living in DE, I would sell everything and buy a boat to live on if my wife and kids would let me. My dream is to eventually own a 28’-30′ sailboat and just sail away to some uncharted island paradise!
