I think of my professional history as a journey or a road-trip. I got into banking while still in high school, working for 14 years in various positions at Southeast National Bank – in securities, as a teller, and in customer service. The next stop took me to Servos Seed in Chadds Ford. I worked as a bookkeeper for 9 years for a wonderful couple who became my mentors. I worked on an Apple computer – my very first computer experience. After the Servos’ sold their business, I worked as a legal secretary for a defense attorney. The attorney liked my attitude and agreed to take me on knowing full well that I hadn’t a clue how to use the IBM sitting on my desk. Within 3 days I was a pro and we were both happy that there would be no more looking for a good fit. The final stop on my lifelong road-trip was at Dorset Connects. I’ve been here 12+ years and love every minute of it – keeping the books and taking care of the team. Soup’s on!
I grew up in a little house on a dirt road in Boothwyn, PA. Learned those good old fashioned values by the best mom & dad (and keepers of “the recipe”) ever – living off the land (trapping, fishing, hunting, cooking, sewing & gardening) and making do with what you have. I was taught not to worry, to be patient and compassionate. Traveled solo to Australia for the summer between Jr. and Sr. years of high school – a much needed and valued experience for this young girl.
