Comprehensive Network Assessment
Creating and maintaining a successful and efficient network begins with a thorough assessment. A network assessment can provide a wealth of information about your network and highlight challenges in many areas that are typically neglected. Scheduled assessments are important markers for monitoring network health and ensuring it remains efficient. Dorset Connects offers two main network assessments and considers our third to be a custom built solution.

- Report Creation: Network diagram and comprehensive documentation showing findings, recommendations, and priorities for current and proposed environment
- Vulnerability Testing: Are any business systems exposed to hackers or other threats?
- Assessment Consultation: Onsite review with stakeholders to ensure comprehensive understanding and answer all questions
A senior engineer will always be in charge of the analysis and delivery of our assessments. Our commitment to our customers is to provide the most comprehensive and scrutinized assessment that we can produce.
Network Infrastructure Assessment
Dorset Connects offers two standard network assessments that focus primarily on two different aspects of your network. The first is a Network Infrastructure Assessment which gathers information on your existing hardware, software, and peripherals. This is a very robust data collection process. Some of the reports we deliver include:
Our scan will pull out literally hundreds of pages of end-user network activity and configuration data. The Full Network Assessment Report includes every detail, presented in line-item fashion in an editable report document. The report is organized by section with a table of contents to help you locate the specific findings of interest, and problem areas are conveniently highlighted in red, making it easy to spot individual problems to be rectified.
The Risk Report presents you with a summary of your overall risk score based on your scan, along with graphs and charts to better showcase the problem areas.
For each network scan, the Asset Report provides detailed information on each of the individual assets discovered. The report is ideal for cataloging and documenting the complete settings and configurations for individual workstations and servers
Network Security Assessment
In addition to our Network Infrastructure Scan, we also offer a standard Network Security Scan. This assessment aims to highlight common problems that are typically overlooked by technical staff. It also offers great reports that can be used to get a true understanding of your network security practices as they are compared to your policy. Some of the reports we deliver include:
This report includes a proprietary Security Risk Score and chart showing the relative health (on a scale of 1 to 10) of the network security, along with a summary of the number of computers with issues. In addition, it also reports on outbound protocols, System Control protocols, User Access Controls, as well as an external vulnerabilities summary list.
A comprehensive report including security holes and warnings, informational items that can help make better network security decisions, plus a full External Scan which checks all 65,535 ports against your firewall. This is an essential item for many standard security compliance reports.
Highlights deviation from industry standards compared to outbound port and protocol accessibility, lists available wireless networks as part of a wireless security survey, and provides information on Internet content accessibility.
